We had a great time on Monday at the 2017 Odlum Brown VanOpen, hosted by Hollyburn Country Club in beautiful West Vancouver, Canada.

Hollyburn is also a SmartClub with two SmartCourts used by pros, juniors and members year-round.

We utilized one of the courts for some pro and fan engagement – the PlaySight Skills Challenge involved serve and stroke contests (speed and accuracy).

The male and female player with the best score earned a charitable donation on their behalf to the two charities supported by the tournament: CLICK (Contributing to Lives of Inner City Kids) and Tennis BC’s Girls in Action outreach program.

We will be announcing the winner(s) later this week… in the meantime here are some behind-the-scenes shots of the Challenge!

Dudi Sela, a previous winner at the VanOpen, was the first participant in the Challenge.

Young Canadian stars Bianca Andreescu and Benjamin Sigouin had a tight head-to-head contest.

Marc Polmans and his coach were battling for fastest serve and most accurate groundstrokes.

Eri crushing a backhand.

Eri Hozumi and her coach had fun on PlaySight – their second experience with the technology after using it in Japan before!

Some on-court SmartCourt action.

An amazing view overlooking downtown Vancouver.
