“PlaySight’s live streaming will help with the uncertainty around fans and recruits attending games or practices this upcoming year in a really big way.”

SAXTONS RIVER, VT (October 15, 2020) – PlaySight is excited to add yet another NEPSAC prep program to the fold, welcoming in Vermont Academy as the latest SmartSchool. Vermont Academy is also the fourth Lakes Region League program to add PlaySight. The Wildcats will be installing two PlaySight Pro fixed systems — one at their hockey rink and one in their gym — as well as a portable PlaySight GO system, which they plan to use across many different sports. The school plans to not only support the development of its athletic programs, but also offer a viable solution for fans, parents and recruits to continue to engage via live-streaming with many of the 20+ sports played amidst the attendance and spectator restrictions imposed by the current COVID-19 scenario.

Vermont Academy’s Director of Technology, Jeff Gaudet, speaks of the importance of maximizing PlaySight’s OTT network (the PlaySight Sports Network) capabilities to continue to connect the school with its community.

“One of the main reasons that we decided on investing in PlaySight is that athletics at Vermont Academy are a big part of our community. With the current environment and restrictions, we are not able to have spectators at our sporting events. We needed a reliable system that would allow community members to still be able to see our sporting events.”Coaches at Vermont Academy are also excited to utilize PlaySight’s versatility.

Boys’ Basketball Head Coach Alex Popp sees PlaySight as a key factor in “college placement efforts, alumni engagement, and recruiting purposes,” and also a great way to “provide access to our most valued stakeholders.”  While Girls Hockey Head Coach Chris Ardito agrees that

“PlaySight’s live streaming will help with the uncertainty around fans and recruits attending games or practices this upcoming year in a really big way. It’s going to allow our parents from all over to enjoy watching their kids play. It’s also going to provide a level of connection potential players can have with our team. They’ll be able to watch us play and see where they’ll fit in, as well as watch our practices and see what we do that will help them develop”.

PlaySight’s Sales Manager Matt Gibson is excited to bring PlaySight to another leading prep program.

“We are extremely proud to power Vermont Academy athletics as their live streaming and video partner. They join Brewster Academy, St. Paul’s and Proctor Academy as our fourth partner in the Lakes Region NEPSAC league and compete at the highest levels of prep athletics.”
