Gonzaga University adds PlaySight’s Smart AI video technology to its tennis facility and teams

SPOKANE, WA (October 2nd, 2019) – Gonzaga University is set to become the latest collegiate athletic program to add PlaySight’s Smart AI and connected camera sports video technology to its tennis programs. Gonzaga’s tennis coaches and student-athletes will soon benefit from PlaySight’s pro-level video and performance tools in the Stevens Center, the home to both the men’s and women’s tennis programs. Gonzaga is also the latest West Coast Conference (WCC) program to add PlaySight tennis technology, joining Santa Clara University, University of Portland, Pepperdine University and Loyola Marymount University.

“PlaySight is giving us the best opportunity to further the development of our players through video analysis. Adding PlaySight here at Gonzaga shows our commitment to support both tennis programs and their quest of newer heights.”

Men’s Head Tennis Coach Jonas Piibor shared what the addition of PlaySight will mean to Gonzaga’s tennis programs. “PlaySight is giving us the best opportunity to further the development of our players through video analysis. Adding PlaySight here at Gonzaga shows our commitment to support both tennis programs and their quest of newer heights.”

Women’s Head Coach D.J. Gurule is also looking forward to the impact PlaySight will have on his student-athletes, Gonzaga’s facilities and the program in general. “The addition of PlaySight to the Stevens Center is such a positive advancement for our programs. The Stevens Center is now one of the finest facilities in college tennis. PlaySight will help our program continue to develop players and is crucial in the advancement of our programs.”

Josh Graves, PlaySight’s Head of Tennis, is thrilled to see more schools continue to adopt technology. “We couldn’t be more excited to work with the coaches and athletes at Gonzaga University. In addition to the player development tools that the athletes and coaches will have access to, the Gonzaga community will now get to watch all of the team’s home matches with our live streaming. We’re particularly excited to bring PlaySight’s SmartScore Integration to Gonzaga’s stream. Viewers will be able view a digital scoreboard, the overall dual match score, lives score stats, and more all on the live stream.”
