The Exo Tennis Series is set to kick off its first event in the US today, featuring exciting professionals from the women’s and men’s tour with a notable American presence, including Taylor Townsend, Sachia Vickery, Chris Eubanks and Donald Young. Exo-Tennis, the first group to bring live professional tennis back, has been hosting events in Germany since the beginning of May. Exo-Tennis is utilizing video technology from PlaySight to provide full -service automated production broadcasts, minimizing the need for manpower and production crews.

The US series of Exo-Tennis will be hosted at the Fields Swim & Tennis Club just outside of Atlanta. This series features pro players from both the women’s and men’s tours, and will feature fast, fun and exciting scoring and match formats. Scheduling and full tournament information can be found here. Exo-Tennis has worked to ensure full compliance with all safety rules and regulations, ensuring that player and official safety is the top priority. The German series has proven to be an effective model for the return of live tennis in a safe and responsible way, powered by technology.

This initiative originated with Rodney Rapson, the man behind Exo-Tennis and PlaySight’s Managing Director of Europe and the UK, who realized he had the ingredients needed to run a tennis event safely in Germany – and now in the United States.

“After the success of our first events in Germany, I am excited to be bringing the concept to the US. Atlanta is home to some of the best tennis players in the world, so it was a natural fit to bring the event here. We at Exo-Tennis and PlaySight are looking forward to showing more world-class content on our platform.”

Tournament host and owner of Winward Lake Club Viv Chhetri has joined the Exo-Tennis team for the American series.

“I am extremely honored to host this event and to join Rodney and his team. The tennis world- and world in general- is in a tough place right now. What better way to get our players competing and fans watching live tennis online than with this format and technology? I want to give special thanks to the Fields Swim & Tennis Club, Global Tennis Service, Tecnifibre and Ace Academy for their support of the Atlanta Series.”

ATP pro Donald Young is raring to go.

“I have been working out and training daily to get ready to finally compete again,” said Young. “The first few Exo-Tennis tournaments in Germany were great to watch, and I am really hoping we can display a similar level of performance in Atlanta.”
