Matt R. Lehman, the Director of WSYB & Cheer, said, “After spending time researching various video platforms and companies, I found that they were many great live streaming options. We strive at WSYB & Cheer to be a leader in sports technology, and our 800 families expect that. PlaySight fit the requirement of being the best technology for us. With their platform, we can not only broadcast games with live streams, but our coaches can breakdown practices and use it as a teaching tool to further set us apart from other Midwest programs.”

Speaking on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lehman continued, “In a normal year, we would play over 40 games each weekend out of three venues, while providing practices for all 75-plus teams of ours with packed stands and a great atmosphere. With the COVID-19 protocols, the few practices we are able to provide are closed to parents and we can only allow very limited spectators for games.”

The WSYB & Cheer, which runs basketball and cheer leagues and club programs to over 1,000 kids in the community, will be installing PlaySight’s fixed PRO system with SmartTracker camera technology, as well as PlaySight’s SmartScore software, which creates a professional viewing experience through OCR technology.

PlaySight’s CEO and Co-Founder Chen M. Shachar is thrilled to see his company’s mission come to life with this new partnership. “From the very beginning when we founded PlaySight, we had a clear objective, which was to democratize pro level technology, so kids and youth organizations could access the same technology used in the NBA, MLB and professional leagues around the world. And throughout the pandemic this year, we have been able to increase sports viewing opportunities and keep the connection of sport alive safely through remote production and automated video streaming.”

PlaySight’s Smart sports AI video platform is connecting sports all over the world. Hundreds of thousands of athletes, coaches, teams, colleges and sports facilities utilize PlaySight each and every day for automated production live stream broadcasts, multi-angle video recording, performance analysis, content monetization and much more.
