Want to learn what it is like to work at PlaySight? We’re going to spend the next few months talking to members of the team about their backgrounds in sport, what they do at PlaySight, and much more!

This week, we hear from Tsealla Yanay, PlaySight’s Business Development & Sales Manager for the Asia-Pacific region.

What sports did you play growing up?

Tsealla: Swimming, dancing and gymnastics.

What attracted you to working at PlaySight?

Tsealla: I was working for a tech company at a great position but in an industry I wasn’t passionate about. I decided that I needed to be doing something that I believed in. Growing up with professional athletes at home, sports has been an integral part of my life since day one, really.

I started reading a lot, every day, about different companies and what they do to try and find the best fit. Being a huge tennis fan (the only tennis fan that doesn’t actually play tennis), during my “morning reading” on the sports tech space, PlaySight kept coming up.

I loved everything that I found. I connected with our CEO on LinkedIn, politely bugged him for a meeting, and after lots of persistence, a few conversations and an interview, here we are!

What is your role at PlaySight?

Tsealla: Business Development & Sales – Asia Pacific. I have the task to research, learn and decide which countries, sports and opportunities to pursue in my region. It’s a delicate balancing act between market potential, existing opportunities as well as PlaySight’s vision and global strategy.

Favourite athlete of all-time?

Tsealla: Michael Jordan and Roger Federer (tie).

Favourite team and sport?

Tsealla: Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Basketball.

Favourite thing about working at PlaySight?

Tsealla: Getting to do something that interests me regardless of it being ‘work.’ But the ultimate best is to be able to watch live Federer matches during working hours!

Favourite experience so far during your time at PlaySight?

Tsealla: Traveling to exotic places and getting to learn about the different cultures all while meeting great people who share my passion, drive, and vision with regards to sports and technology.

Finish this sentence – in five years, PlaySight will be…

Tsealla: … dominating the global market for AI-based automated production and athlete development tools, not just in tennis but across all sports.
